LEADERSHIP…
This issue is very important, especially now where it applies to our beloved Gallaudet University. Gallaudet University MUST have a good leader!
A good leader is a person who has received RESPECT from within the community. This person is someone who people, from the community, LOOK UP TO. This person gives GOOD EXAMPLE through his/her WORDS and ACTIONS. This person is someone the community can TRUST in his/her leadership to LEAD the group well. This person is REPRESENTING and REFLECTING the community. The community should feel INSPIRED by the leader. If the leader has all those qualities above, they will FOLLOW the leader. This person can then run the leadership and its community.
Unfortunately, none of this is happening at Gallaudet University right now. Obviously, Jane K. Fernandes is not the best fit for Gallaudet. We have read the points made from the employees at Clerc Center why she is not capable to lead Gallaudet. Read more about this on _______________
Not only that, she was not able to control the situations well when there were crisis at Gallaudet during the years of 2000-2002. She forgot the students when they really needed her the most. Read more about this at ___________
There are letters with valid points written to I. King Jordan, asking him for reconsideration in having Jane as our next president. Jim MacFadden is one of those who wrote a letter explaining what leadership is all about; Listening to the people... *********************************************************
BOARD OF TRUSTEES and SELECTION PROCEDURE must be revisited and REVISED...
This is one of reasons why the process was FLAWED…
The Board of Trustees has a very LOW percentage of Gallaudet Alumni on the board. HOW DO THEY KNOW what GALLAUDET is ALL ABOUT if they have not been students there? They cannot understand what the best interest is for Gallaudet University.
The Board of Trustees must have a higher percentage of Gallaudet Alumni to carry on Gallaudet’s legacy.
